Located directly north-east of Tianjin, Beijing contains many truly world-class attractions and is one of the most-visited cities in the whole China. The Shi Family Courtyard stands on the westerly outskirts of Tianjin and is an impressive attraction and residence of the Shi family, comprising several grand courtyards, a theatre and almost 300 rooms, many of which boast attractive furnishings and antiquities. Approximately 50 km / 31 miles from Tianjin, Tanggu has long been home to one of the country's most important seaports, where many visitors are able to catch passenger ferries and travel to Dalian - on the north-eastern side of China, Kobe in Japan, and also Incheon in South Korea. Whilst there aren't many attractions in Tanggu itself, both the 15th-century Chaoyin Temple on Chaoyinsi Daji and the 16th-century Dagu Fort along Paotai Lu warrant exploration.
